quote:maybe the can stop gouging the students for tuition! The extremely generous donation is earmarked for a certain project. Donations for certain projects can't just be put towards general funding which is a primary driver of tuition costs. |

It's nice to hear about people giving money to a school that could actually put that money to good use. I remember someone gave money to Cranbrook. Cranbrook! Like they need any money. Wayne State has been active in the development of Midtown. Money for Wayne State is money for the city's resurgence |

All schools need money: The poor ones need money to get by The middle ones need money to improve The top ones need money to remain at their level I can't fault any school for wanting donations and I can't fault anyone that is willing to donate money to a school, no matter how well of it is it is still in the name of education. |

Wow, I didn't know prof's were that wealthy, must of made some very wise investments over the years. There was one couple who invested a lot of money with the The Oracle of Omaha and ended up leaving their college with like 200 million dollars! |

As far as WSU "gouging" their students, relative to what school is this claim? It may be expensive with an income of the average student, but UofM is the most expensive public college in America for out-of-staters. Yes it's a good school, but it's not worthy of being that expensive. All in all WSU is not that bad, really. Considering the quality of education you get, it's actually a bargain. |

For many areas of study it is excellent. Who brought up out of state students? Might as well gouge them. |

What, to make sure that no one has a reason to move to Michigan, East_detroit? Nevertheless, glad to see someone's donating funds to my alma mater. |
