I don't care if rankings are stupid. Quicken being number 2 is good for perceptions of Michigan. Also, Google is number 1 and while its Michigan location is not one of its main locations, it does have a large presence in Ann Arbor. Therefore...drumroll...the two best places to work in the entire country are located in Michigan. http://money.cnn.com/galleries /2008/fortune/0801/gallery.bes tcos_top50.fortune/2.html |

Who rates these companies anyway? Their employees?
quote: 100 Best Companies to Work For 2008 Top 50 employers We surveyed nearly 100,000 employees from 446 different companies and asked them to evaluate their employers. These firms ranked the highest. By Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz What if the city employees rated Detroit as the best place to work? Would that cause people to move or relocate businesses to Detroit? |

quote:who said rankings were stupid? Rankings are only stupid when they say bad things about Detroit. Like we are fat. Or kill a lot of people. Or have high illiteracy rates. You know stuff like that. Rankings that say good things are great. |

If it's a great place to work and in Livonia, imagine how much better it will be when employees have dozens of walkable options for lunch, downtown parks in which to enjoy that lunch, and a favorable location and parking spot from which to launch any number of downtown outings, from shows to games to bar nights. |

I knew someone that worked there and said it was a horrible place to work. He claimed they put so much pressure on the salesmen that they would be forced to pull multiple all nighters |
