In the 1940s a friend of mine used to perform regularly at the Corktown Tavern. His old promotional material lists the address as 1430 Michigan Avenue. The bar's current address is 1716. Does the current Corktown Tavern have any ties to the old one? If so, when did it move to it's current location?

Corktown Tavern is a relatively new name. Prior to that, it was known as the Batter's Box. The name change came when the writing was on the wall for Tiger Stadium.
