I find it unbelievable that a noce reat city suchas Detroit could go thorugh so many drastic changes in overall reputation and general density, size and infrastructure in so many years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ull2HdEC-Ts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0d1rfBC0Lw&feature=related we went from this
To This
And then to make it seem either worse, the neighborhoods saw an even larger change than our own CBD within 40 years. Anyone have comparison pictures and brief stories they would like to share, as I'm really interested in checking them out. |

Imagine if Detroit won the '68 Olympics bid instead of Montreal. Would the '67 riots have occurred? Would the '68 Tigers won the series? Hmmm... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =XaoSTZ40HtY&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE21mRGXpdY (Message edited by jrvass on December 08, 2007) |

Jrvass....In 1968, Mexico City experienced horrific riots that were not quelled until Mexican soldiers opened fire on protesters, a few days prior to the Olympic Opening Ceremonies. Hooligans crave a Global spotlight; chances are - had Detroit been awarded the '68 Games - our '67 Riot would have been more widespread. PS Yes....the Tigers would have won the '68 World Series, even with the Olympic Games in Detroit; nothing would have stopped those guys. (Message edited by chuckjav on December 08, 2007) |
