This may be common knowledge around here by now, but The Coffee Cafe in the Dime Building serves Intelligentsia coffee, which is the same brand of coffee that was served at Cafe deTroit. They have many of the same flavors as well!

Prices are reasonable - my regular order of "small coffee" is $1.50/cup.

Just thought I'd pass it along, because I sure am enjoying this cup of coffee right now.

they do have good coffee and quality food there, however everything in that store is a total rip off. example, a red bull sells for $3 ... the newsstand 100 feet away sells 'em for $2.25.

I would imagine most people looking for a Red Bull would choose a party store over a specialty coffee shop to make their purchase.

$1.50 is pricey for gas station coffee, but not for Intelligentsia.

Thanks for the info Chris... $1.50 is reasonable for coffee... it's the $3.75 Mocha Jamocha Almond Rocha type gimmicky coffees found elsewhere that are pricey! :-)

Beans and Bytes has a $1.00 small cuppa joe. It seems pretty decent to me.

If it's bought in the Dime Building, shouldn't it only cost 10 cents?

10 cents make sense in the Dime Bldg.
Nobody calls their banks Dime Savings and Loans these days. Some of us remember the 15 cent burger and nickel French Fries at Mc donalds in the 60s. Dime for a milkshake.

Vas, the Dime Building is on the NW corner of Griswold and Fort, right behind the new 1 Kennedy Square Building, just 1 block west of Campus Martius. To me, the lobby of the Dime Building is one of the most charming lobbies in Detroit. It's well worth a visit.
