Snippet:
quote:

A one-year-old Detroit boy, who suffered burns over 37 percent of his body, is in fair condition as police continue the investigation into the death of his brother, whose skeletal remains were recovered in the ceiling of a Detroit home on the east side.

The parents of the two infants -- Nickella Reid, 24, and Joseph Miller, 27 -- were arraigned Saturday on first- and second-degree child abuse charges for injuries to the one-year-old boy. Miller also uses the alias of Anthony Taffies

No charges have been filed against the couple in connection with the death of their other son, Deante Reid. The boy died almost two years ago when he was one year old, according to Reid's statement to Detroit police. Her four other children have been placed in the state foster care system.

Miller and Reid were arrested Friday after Reid took her one -year-old son to the hospital with burns he suffered allegedly from scalding water.

...

Reid also said they had another son, Deante, who died when he was one year old in March 2006, according to Detroit police. Reid told police that Miller killed the child, but Miller said the child died of natural causes.

Since the couple had no money for a funeral, Miller tried to cremate Deante's body in a barbecue grill. When he was unsuccessful, Miller took Deante's remains to his sister's home and sealed them in the ceiling, police said.

To review:
Four kids placed in the foster care system, an abused one-year old, and the charred remains of an earlier baby that the mom says dad killed.

Is this what Dr. Cosby was talking about? Why would someone have a fifth and then sixth child if money is tight? Is BBQing the baby's corpse really the best option? Should some sort of public educational program about parenting be implemented?

This has nothing to do with the amount of kids and Bill Cosby. This is about lunatic parents who abused and possibly killed their kids.

Yeah, this is sad.

Uh and Greatlakes, there are already parenting classes that are mandatory for any foster parent to receive their license. However, for the 2 people in the story, people like that shouldn't be allowed to have children at all, let along forced to take parenting classes. If you know how to properly raise a child, then that's fine. It's all instinct in my opinion on how you should raise your children, not any lessons from a class. Miller and Reid were just crazy.

How does a child go missing and no one knows about it? There must be relatives, friends, authorities who were also aware this child was no longer at the home. If so, they should be charged as accessories for not reporting it.

When those Canton kids beheaded their buddy, I didn't hear anybody talk about Cosby. Anyway, no matter what the Coz would say, because the only thing worth saying is those parents sound batshit crazy.

How does a kid go missing and nobody notices? In this case, she must've figured she could keep replacing them.
How can you have SIX kids by age 24? And not have a clue that it might not be a good life plan, even after one of them dies and the crazy boyfriend does what he did to him?
Unbelievable.

And we chastize the police for not wanting to do their jobs! What would life be like if we had to deal with people like this every day? http://www.detnews.com/apps/pb cs.dll/article?AID=/20071126/U PDATE/711260421

Wouldn't we want to raise our children in quiet safe suburban neighborhoods? But, no - some Detroiters want to insist that police officers stick around at night so that they can intervene in more neighborhood issues, if needed!

You think 6 kids at the age of 24 is unusual? Trust me, it isn't. If there's 6 different daddies involved I wouldn't be shocked either.

Let the unsaved black folks kill themselves and let the saved black folks live for the future.

Danny, I don't know if anyone has asked you this, but what race are you? I ask because you post way too many stereotypical and racist comments, whether it's black, white, asian or hispanic people.
