I am having a going away party because I am moving to Chicago. I wanted to know if you guys knew of any Restaurants that have private rooms that can accommodate small and large groups. The Location can be in the city or in the burbs. Thanks for your help. God Bless You All. |

Just about every downtown restaurant of any size has one. Even Nemo's has a private back room that is a great party room. |

The Michigan Room at Union Street has always been tops for me. Traffic Jam & Snug also has a more secluded area as well. |

Andiamo in downtown Rochester has an excellent private room. We had our rehearsal dinner there in September. There are many different locations around the area, including one at the RenCen, and I'm sure that they would have similar accomodations as well. |

Sweet Lorraine's in Oak Park has a back room as well as an upstairs which could be used for a separate area. Lord knows I've been innundated by small corporate parties and baby showers on occassion there when I've stopped in for dinner. |

Aholloway, seems I recall that you were offered a job in Chicago and asked this forum for opinions on whether to take the job or not. Sounds like you decided to take the new job. Congrats. Since you said earlier that you lived in A2, maybe the Gandy Dancer would be a good choice. I know they have small rooms for groups, but if A2 is too far away for the attendees, you might want to consider a Chicago themed restaurant. The one that comes to mind is the Chicago Uno pizza place on Haggarty Rd at 8 mile. It's either in Livonia or Northville - not too sure on the border boundry. Another choice would be Mario's Eastside on Plymouth Road near Merriman in Livonia. I attended a baby shower there and they have a very nice private room that can hold 20 - 30 people. Again, congrats on your new gig, where in Chicago is the job and where are you looking to live? |

Gnome, yes I am taking the job. They offered me more than I asked for so Im happy about that, thanks for asking. I am happy I posted this question because some of these places I have never heard of! I am truly going to miss my city. I plan to come back every year though for The Winter Blast. |
