Go this a few weeks ago and it rocks. Of course I love both sc-fi and anything that has Detroit in it so this was a no-brainer for me. When I opened the tin case I found something suprising http://img.photobucket.com/alb ums/v339/ericexp/robo1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/alb ums/v339/ericexp/robo4.jpg I was very pleased and suprised to see that someone cared enough to use the actual skyline (even if from the wrong side, Robo and ED-209 would have to in Windsor for this shot to practical)! In the Robocop 1, you see some of the skyline in the opening credits, but the Ren Cen is edited out. In Robocop 2, There is a panaramic skyline behind the future mayor. In the scene in his doing a telethon to try to raise money. Sadly, in Robocop 3...Nothing is used. |

Aww that reminds me of what happened to poor Murphy in part one, but other than that those movies were cool, even thought they make Detroit into hell on earth. |

I picked up the Criterion Collection Version of the first Robocop. During the commentary section, they spoke about the fact that ironically, the opening title was the only thing that they have actually of Detroit (and even that was stock footage). The latest I heard was that they were talking about doing a remake of the first movie. With Iron Man coming out next year, I'm not sure how that'll fare with moviegoers. |

From Countingdown.com "Back in November of '05 (a year already? CHUD broke the news that Sony Pictures was working on a remake of Robocop with Hollywood legend Michael DeLuca (New Lines former president of production). No details were revealed other than the unofficial (and confirmed) announcement. While dozens (maybe hundreds) of remakes are seeing green, we've been informed that the Robocop remake has been told to "freeze." "The studio no longer has interest in the remake," our anonymous scooper informs us. We also discovered that everyone involved in the original film (including Jon Davison and Ed neumeier) were talking to the studio about being involved in the remake. In the original 1987 film a terminally wounded cop returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him." |

Miller: And I want a bigger office! And I want a new car! And I want the city to pay for it all! Lt Hedgecock: What kind of car, Miller? Miller: Something with reclining leather seats, that goes really fast, and gets really shitty gas mileage! Alright. Lt Hedgecock: How about a 6000 SUX? Miller: Yeah! Okay, sure! What about cruise control? Does it come with cruise control? Lt Hedgecock: Hey, no problem, Miller. You let the mayor go, we'll even throw in a Blaupunkt! |

Unfortunately for Alex J. Murphy, he had to learn the hard way that you DO NOT FUCK WITH THE DAD FROM THAT 70S SHOW!
