I don't know how many of you find your way over to detroitblog but he has done a lot of good work spotlighting small businesses in Detroit this summer.

I don't see why something like it can't find a weekly home in the News or Freep.

These are the kind of businesses and people that get lost in the shuffle because everyone cares too much about selling half a million dollar downtown lofts.

I agree. We need to celebrate the small businesses in Detroit. Just like the neighborhoods, small businesses need to succeed to truly realize a Detroit Rising.

Detroitblog is an absolutely outstanding site, very astute and well-written. I recommend it to everyone in search of Detroit essence.

More kudos for the Detroitblog. I'm hope to eventually shop at all these unique blog gems. So far Joe has cut my hair. I still need to buy some of Minnie’s Cakes.

Meanwhile, now that you mention it, it seams that Detroitblog is part of the MetroTimes "best of Detroit" editorial this year.

The article in Metro Times is good, but it's missing something without his cool color photographs.
