first, this was already posted last week... second, this type of list is basically a bunch of numbers they plug into a formula... the biggest issue facing Detroit right now is too many people for the amount of jobs available, but this doesn't matter for retirees since they aren't looking for employment also, affordability of housing always factors heavily into these kinds of lists, and we know that isn't an issue in Detroit... they don't factor things into the equation like how depressing it is to look at abandoned structures all over the place or to seek crackheads overtaking Capitol Park... |

Jesus What was it called last week, because I looked for it? The article was written until yesterday though? And even if it is only a bunch of number plugged into a formula(and I would love to know how you can be positive of that) isn't it great that Detroit ended up on the positive end for a change? Here's the thread...it's about the 30th one or so listed on the main "Discuss Detroit" page... https://www.atdetroit.net/forum/mes sages/5/115811.html?1192124350 Yeah, I guess it's good Detroit is on a list like this, but I'm not really surprised given their methodology...I think most people looking at it would draw the same conclusion and understand that there are certain intangibles that probably make Detroit less of a nice place to retire... |
