This thread has a few photos and drawings of the Detroit Stove Works. It was in the same spot as the rubber company, so it was razed to build the Morgan-Wright/US Rubber/Uniroyal tire factory.

Eastsideman- My grandfather used to own it when it was Michigan Stove Works.

I have a friend who did her kitchen "retro". She has an absolutely fabulous "Detroiter" stove, turquois and white, six gas burners, and double side ovens. It's probably from 1922 or thereabout, and she uses it every day. I'm guessing a stove with a plate marked "Detroiter" would be the Detroit Stove Works.

Moral of the story: when you're appliance shopping don't forget the Antique Mall.

kronprinz- our family has one from the Michigan Stove works, before the Detroit Stove works. Era 1924.

Where was the Oldsmobile plant? Right next to the stove factory?

Sven- The Uniroyal plant was on the same property as the Stove Works.
