I suggest changing your withholding so you owe the city a little instead of them owing you.

Any Detroit home and business owner who recieves their income tax refund check. May see a bill from the $150 to $300 trash collection fee, but there are some trash still piling up in your ghettohood.

And the winner of the "Ignorant statement of the day queenie award" goes to...... Danny 6651!
Congratulations Danny! You've made a completely irrelevant post showing to one and all your amazing lack of intellectual prowess.

I know your mother must be proud of you ;-|

And Yvette, your mean-spirited post proved nothing except that you were (are?) mean-spirited.

Why bother?

Yeah, Eastdetroit, maybe. Usually I just ignore jerks, but this time I couldn't resist the impulse.

Work in the city of Detroit, pay extra city taxes. Work just outside of the city, and pay none....quite an incentive.

i work in the city but live elsewhere..so they owed me half of what i pay. I guess they never change my city withholding at work when i moved so i pay 2.5% but only owe 1.25%

i must say though that things may may not always get done as snappy as everyone wants, but MOST times i dealt with city employees they were usually most courteous and helping. just doing their jobs like anyone else.
