I received it in the mail the other day. It may be interesting to note that Justice Administration and Law Enforcement are both allocated 15.2% and 28.7% The County executive is allocated 24.8%; non departmental is at 26%; while general government is at the low end with a 5.3% expenditure. Foreclosure intervention and prevention counseling has been made available by the County Executive and the Oakland County Board of Commissioners.

Trust certificates have been issued to eliminate legacy costs.

Detroit must reimburse $24million to water customers across the region.

Prescription drug and 'affordable' dental care plans have been made available.

Catalpa park has been preserved as a greenspace.

OakVideo conferencing system uses the countys fiber optic network to process prisoners from warrants ot arraignments. The time saving has helped process more than 10,000 warrants.
The Oakland County Youth Assistance program, which has been in affect since 1953 is described in detail. At the bottom of the last page respondents are asked to complete a three question survey in which residents are asked about property tax increases for a new jail; purchasing greenspace; and Oakland County programs to help citizens avoid foreclosure.

It was an interesting, educational pamphlet to read but at the same time it is dissapointing that the county has to spend such a large portion of the budget on apprehension and prosecution of criminals. The fact that over 10,000 warrants are processed is nothing to be proud of. Reading the report made me consider why we have such high rates of crime.
