There are a bunch of adults, 20's through 70's, that play pick-up every Sunday morning. No adult league though. But you could help start one. If interested call Anthony @ 2979328. |

On a similar note, what is the public hockey situation at city arena on the east side? I live just a few blocks away, but I have not played there since high school, 5 years ago. Do they have a regular open hockey schedule? |

I've heard on the radio that the old Fraser Arena (I think it's called Great Lakes Sports Complex or some other hokey name like that now), Mount Clemens and the Taylor Rink have some adult drop-in leagues. I'd also check in with Viking Arena over in Hazel Park as well- they seem to have leagues all the time as well; just pray you don't get slotted for the Olympic ice if you haven't played in awhile- it's a little more to cover in the corners if you're playing out. |

This is the first time ever that I am without a competative league/team to play for. As a very experienced player, which metro rink will offer the best hockey? |

The drop ins at Farmington Hills Ice Arena were always at a pretty high level, but I'm not too versed on the men's leagues. |

Fraser, Troy, Hazel Park, etc. have both leagues and drop-in hockey, though the schedules thin out in the summertime. There's no such thing as a "drop-in league"; drop-in is pick-up hockey in which whoever shows up plays on that given day for a flat fee with whoever else happens to show up, whereas leagues are organized teams with standings, schedules, etc. that span for months. The two are mutually exclusive. Detroitstar, the suburban rinks have levels ranging from A to D. Almost all have a decent B/C level, which is usually broad enough to offer pretty decent competition. |
