I recently purchased a wheel seal for my Escort. The brand was "Motor City Bearings and Seals". The back of the box said "made in Taiwan". I'm upset.

If that is all you are upset about, I wish I was you.

I feel ya man.

But you should know companies wont pay someone in Detroit $9 an hour to make bearings when they can pay someone in Tiawan 10 cents an hour to do the same thing. Thats the "global economy" for ya.

Don't buy cheap shit made in Taiwan and you won't be upset. . . or in cahoots with the global economy.

Whose to say that Detroit is the only city in the world that calls itself "the Motor City"?

It's the old bait 'n switch, Benjo. Congrats for at least looking at the label.

"Don't buy cheap shit made in Taiwan and you won't be upset. . . or in cahoots with the global economy"

--great idea, only its virtually impossible to do. Have you actually looked at anything you have purchased lately? Even the "american brands" are made overseas, so just how are we supposed to avoid "buying cheap s**t made in Taiwan" (which I would love to do)?

Damn, I just paid $1600 and change for a new beautiful desk and wall hutch set. It's something I wanted for years, and replaced a 30-year old L-shaped desk I had that was used when I got it.

Got it set up only to discover the "Made in China" label.

Had I seen that in the store, I'd of looked elsewhere.

Aw, I'm broke. Came into a little inheritance recently, but blew it.
