I couldn't find any existing posts already surrounding this debate/debacle....... http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/B usiness/2007/08/01/epa_head_ok s_bp_lake_michigan_dumping/739 5/ http://www.chicagotribune.com/ news/local/northwest/chi-bp_01 aug01,1,642936.story http://www.wndu.com/news/headl ines/8852522.html I have included various links in attempt to provide several perspectives into this heated situation. This has a serious rumbling, with a hint of last straw. As far as I have seen, the media is butchering BP and the EPA for their manuevers. What do you people say? |

I say it's pretty cut and dry. No company has ever been allowed to INCREASE pollutants into the Great Lakes since laws were passed. The EPA refuses to act because BP's emissions still fall under federal guidelines, despite being an increase, which is illegal. Imagine that, the Fed. Gov. in bed with the oil industry. |
