I've heard they are really hurting with the exchange rate and the construction going on over there. Has anyone here stayed over at the hotel lately? What did you think about your experience? They do have a great river view and large bathrooms in the place. |

Although I haven't been there in many years, I understand that the grand lobby with the waterfall is history, due to the expansion. |

Probably hurting due to the slow border crossing (especially returning to Detroit) and solid competition from Detroit casinos which are in a much more exciting downtown. |

I was there back in December. Didn't seem to be hurting too bad. But, mind you, the cdn dollar was much lower then. |

I was there last summer. The hotel room we reserved had great views of the river. It was large, but nothing too special. I thought it was over priced, but it was a friend's bachelor party and I wanted to impress the guests with view's of Detroit's skyline. |

I stayed at Casino Windsor a few years ago and the views of Detroit and the river were amazing. The passing freighters seemed close enough to touch. Due to the triple whammy of border hassles, the poor exchange rate and the Ontario smoking ban, casino revenues have taken a big hit. They’re hoping that the new addition and their affiliation with Caesar’s Palace will turn things around. They also have to be praying that Michigan soon enacts a smoking ban of its own. |
