Nice to see MM&W with John Scolfield playing, that's a guaranteed great show. |

Medeski, Martin, and Wood?! Plus Scofield? Awesome! But Maria freakin' Muldaur?! And Alexander "The Antichrist" Zonjic?! Sheesh ... What about Ragtime Rick and the Chefs of DIXIELAND, yo? Or the Cakewalkin' Jass Band?! Where's the New Orleans flavor this year? |

Rumor has it...that Bro. Yusef is playin' the blues, again... And that ace Det saxophonist Tony Holland will play a set in the Jazz Talk Tent...and there will be a special Tough Tenor set featuring Ed Wilkerson from Chi and George Benson from Det... |

Damn, Jim G, I almost asked what Yusef is up to these days, at least while on stage. I really like the "Detroit" album, heard some other stuff in a similar vein (late 60's Atlantic records) but I know he plays other styles, as well. Thanks. Any more rumours or tips? A friend involved with this was in T.O. a few weeks ago, but he didn't mention Yusef Lateef. I had a great time at the 2005 jazz fest, missed last year, and I am trying to figure something out for this year. |
