What's going on at the park today or should I say for the next few days?

They are setting up bleachers in the parking lot across the street.

They've never had bleachers set up for the film series before. It's got to be something more than that.

Wow, I thought "The World is Coming" ended after the Super Bowl. I had no idea that organization was still around.

everydayislikesunday, actually i think those buzz bar wednesdays started awhile ago...

(i only know this because my bike messenger friends are the ones doing free food delivery for the events)

p.s. do you have that name (every day is like sunday) because you work so damn much, or because you go to church everyday?

More likely because every day is silent and grey, in the factory town that they forgot to close down.

Detroit is going to be buzzing in activity on Friday. Warped Tour 07' is going on as well at the parking lots in front of Comerica Park.

andylinn -- it did start a while ago. i just meant to stress the times ("starts tonight at 5") today. poor phrasing, and sentence structure, on my part. some good bands and impromptu jam sessions happened tonight at campus martius. good times.

I too will be at Warped Tour tomorrow. I hope the show is as good as past years. I've been very impressed with previous lineups.

I think last years line-up was better than this years, but it is still a very impressive one.

FYI

Campus Martius is a latin term meaning "Field of Mars". A grassy plain used by the ancient Romans for various contests, military exercises and general assembly.

I remember the first Warped Tour, at the Phoenix Center roof in Pontiac. L7 was there, Wizo, Civ... A much smaller event back then.

Yeah, it's for the mixtape tour. One of the guys helping set up said the bleachers can hold 5,000.

Just came back from there. The Battle of the Bands started almost an hour late.
Got to see the Elvis and Alan Alda (!?) lookalikes wandering around, though.

Chris, did you have a good time at the Warped Tour? I thought it was amazing and the lineup turned out to be pretty good. Some of my favorites:

Boys like Girls(The best performance)
Chiodos(HOMETOWN)
Cute Is What We Aim For(CRAZY PEOPLE. Moshpits and all)
Hawthorne Heights
The Starting Line
& The Rocket Summer

I also heard Killswitch Engage was amazing!
