Never mind... I think Dill might qualify for narrowest street, but not shortest. I don't know how long Yale is... Google Earth hangs up my system.

My vote is for Radio Place, having read all the posts. Is there a sign on it? Three Christian radio stations (WMUZ, WRDT, WEXL) give their address as 12300 Radio Place:

Brooks, located off of Alter Rd, runs from the alley, which is the borderline with Grosse Pointe Park and Alter, about 125 feet long.

There is a little chunk of Monroe street, off McDougall, that is very short. It mostly serves as the driveway to Elmwood Cemetery.

A,B,C,and D streets were south of Michigan Ave.They were between Vinewood and Clark, east of the Caddilac plant. In the 70's GM bought up the land for their railroad shipping facility. After Clark St.was shut down,Piston Packaging went in.Anyway these streets were very short.I brought old car factories, railroads and short streets to one post. And didn't even talk about Pontiac, whoops.

All wrong. The shortest street is that ramp for the John C. Lodge Expressway at Greenfied and W. Eight Mile Rd. It actually has a name.

Middle Street north of the Michigan Theatre is somewhere around 280 feet long. I know because the Michigan Building has a length of 252 ft. on its north side.

Cross Street, which ran from John R to Randolph between Adams and Madison would have been a contender. It's the east-side of downtown's mirror of Middle Street, but it was even shorter. Cross lies under a Detroit Athletic Club parking garage.

response to Cambrian & "Short Street" ...

Connects north-bound Telegraph to Grand River, running between what was a Payless Shoe Source and the Grandlawn Cemetery. It's a cut-off for avoiding the busy intersection.

I used to live on very short street named Opal. It was cool, because you had Mack on one corner and East Warren on the other.

James Ct. is a strange pedestrian street I found som e months back near Gratiot and Harper. There was a thread about it called "James Ct a unique street" or something like that.

I believe that Frazer Street is the shortest street in Detroit. It's behind Northern HS, running south from John R into Holbrook right at the point where John R veers to the right. On Google Maps it appears to be about 140 feet from beginning to end.

How long is Hastings Street in it's current truncated version?

I think it may be two blocks, up in the New Center area, but the damnedest shame in the city.
