Besides some nice homes available in Hubbard Farms and Corktown, Lofts under construction at West Grand Blvd south of Michigan Ave.

There are some new apts. made for low-income residents along W. Vernor HWY. Provided by Southwest Solutions and O'Brien Construction Company. They really restoring SW Detroit back to its classic age one building at a time.

those apts danny is referring to, while a great development, are not upscale housing. They are restricted to tenants with 30-50 percent of the Area Median Income (which is small to begin with.)

Jhart, I live in St. Annes Gate. It's a pretty nice Condominium Community. There is space in the 2 remaining buildings being built. If you need any info, just let me know or leave your email addy and I will get it for you.

Also at the end of our site, they will be building market rate upscale housing with 4BR 2.5 baths. These may be some of the nicest homes built in the community(as i was told recently) I was also told that the homes would be "green" and that tax incentives for alternative energy were going to be offered.

Eek, 30% of Detroit's median income is $8800 a year, or $170 per week.
