I'm going to the game today, do the bleachers sell out? How early should I arrive to avoid this? I was thinking of getting down there around 3 (Game time is 3:55). Too early? Too late? Thanks, Go tigers |

You can check availability at the Tiger's Web site, but I don't think you're gonna find tix to a Saturday Tiger's game on the day of. Doubt you could even get on the Porch at this point. |

I am pretty sure the bleachers are sold out. When you go to the tigers website and try to get tickets, the bleachers are not even an option. Many of the bleachers were bought up by partial season ticket holders. You can probably get a standing room ticket and sit in the bleachers. Especially, if it is only yourself going. I would get there by 2:30 at the latest to make sure you get standing room ($15). They sell out fast. |

Yeah I've been tooling around the website. You suggesting that I should buy SRO tix online? I was going to try and get down by 2:30 like Baltgar suggested. I suppose it would suck to pay for parking and not get in. (Message edited by Traxus on June 30, 2007) |

You can park for free at Compuware garage if you go to Hard Rock and buy a drink. They will validate. Also, at 2:30 you should be able to find a street spot on Washington Blvd. by Bookies. You can also scalp, especially if you are willing to miss first pitch. You can probably get a $10-15 ticket off a scalper. |

Yet another game that I sold my 2 tickets behind home plate for face to someone from work! Because... I am on-call! S. 327; R. 12; sts. 21-22; you can look through the monitor of the robotic camera mounted on the rail of the 2nd deck. Aug 4th, W-Sox and Aug 11th, A's, still available! Because... I will be slammin' salmon on Lk. MI! $40/game. If you want them, contact jrvass@comcast.net to purchase. First person gets priority, unless they are dinking around. Then it goes to the next person. Parking is free on streets all over the area. Don't be a schmuck and pay for parking when it is free, a five minute walk. Only suburban pasty-white ...fraidi-cats pay anything for parking. Look for somebody who you can trust and buy a tkt. on the street. Only pay face or less. Often, regular people have extras and just want to get their money back. Once inside, you can always "upgrade" to a seat of your choice after the 3rd. jjaba, Westsider. |

When one pays for parking sometimes it's not a matter of fear (or being pasty white), it's for the "privilege" of being closer to the ballpark. To some people ponying up an additional $10 is worth that three block hike. |

Park at the Greektown Casino parking structure. Get your ticket validated at the casino then take the $40-$50 that you would have spent on parking and gamble with it. That's what I do. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. |

Detroit also seems like the only city to give scalpers grief for some reason too. I've attended ballgames in about 15 other major league ballparks and I've literally had the attendants in the ticket booth point over to scalpers not more than ten feet away to get my tickets. |

Strange thing is, you'll pay $10 for parking and actually wind up further away from the field than some free street parking. |

i just pay the $15 for the parking underground. I come out in front of Chelly's Chilli and the entrance of CoPay. So i dont mind paying the 15. Plus theres not to much traffic down there so its not bad. |

Sticks, if you can find it for free on the streets and be closer than the $10 paying people, be my guest. No one's begrudging you for finding that deal. |

I'd rather pay ten or fifteen bucks and have a better chance of my car being in the same shape as when I parked it before the game . Not that the lots are wonderful , but , you know what I mean . |

FYI-- Opera House Parking Garage is $10 for ballgame parking and only 1 block away. It also supports the Opera House. (Message edited by tarkus on July 01, 2007) |

Jjaba, parking is metered on Saturday afternoon. And it's actually not that easy for find on street parking with all the crowds downtown. And trust me, I love walking as much as anyone. Now, if you park your car in one place before the game and then move it to be closer to where you go out to eat afterwards, then you're spoiled and lazy. |

I've gone to nearly 60 games over the past two seasons and have only had to pay for parking once (and that was during the playoffs). For 7 pm games, I always arrive by 6:15 (meters are only enforced until 6) and have found on-street parking at meters that is actually closer than some of the lots/ramps that charge $10-15. For day games, I know on-street (non-metered) parking spots that are less than a five-minute walk from Comerica. And, knock on wood, my car has never been messed with. So the free parking is out there, if you want it. |
