I was born at Detroit Memorial Hospital in 1963. Does anyone have pictures of this hospital? |

Try a Google search of web-sites and images. Also, both WSU and the Detroit Public Library system have archives with historical documents and many old photographs. |

My Mom was a Delivery Room Nurse at Det. Mem. during the 60's. She probably slapped your a** to start you breathing. |

^If you're referring to Memorial the postcard states that it was located in the WSU Medical Center in downtown Detroit. |

Re: hospitals. Anybody know when they tore down Deaconess Hospital on E. Jefferson? Also, is the Herbert Keifer Hospital still in existence? Detroit Osteopathic? That place treated a lot of Red Wing hockey players in the l960s. |

Deconess was torn down many years ago, they just built a new building on the site this past year. Herman Keifer is now the home of the Detroit/Wayne county board of health and records. As far as Det. Osteopathic, are you referring to St. John Riverview? That is soon to become the new Barbara Ann Karmonnos Cancer Inst. Also, the old Doctor's Hospital on East Jefferson is now the home to a new Staples store. |
