Hello All,

There is a rundown building across Grand River from the GAR. I noticed two men working on the exterior of the building this morning. They were on some sort of Scaffolding.

It's a beige building, maybe two stories high. I can't remember the street address, but I believe it used to house (maybe still does) a Hotel Supply business.

Anybody have any clue what is going on? I would stop and ask myself, unfortunately I don't work downtown and they will likely be gone by the time I get back.

The workers are from Western Waterproofing, a company which does a lot of facade work. I have no idea why they're there.

Side note: there has been no work on the CC Bar across the street for weeks.

It's the Great Lakes Hotel Supply Co. I remember seeing that name on an old food service cart when working in a dorm at MSU.

(hi I'm new!) tee hee.

Yes. They are definitely still in business. I worked in Purchasing for a few years at Detroit Metro for restaurants and bought most of my equipment from them. David Israel. He's a good guy, and they can get just about anything.

The building does look to be in a poor shape though.
